Roger Ellis studied composition, percussion and trumpet at the Elder Conservatorium, University of Adelaide.
Roger played percussion with the "Robert Lloyd Ensemble' and trumpet with the legendary Adelaide band "Speedboat", as well as working with the State Theatre Company of S.A.
Guest appearances with bands such as "The Castinet Club" and "Hunters and Collectors", and touring with Robyn Archer were followed by some years playing with the Sydney Latin band, "The Mambologists", as well as being the founding musical director of "The Solidarity Choir"
Roger now divides his time between fine furniture making, writing software, and playing the vibraphone
